Hijra and Changing

Bismillah.

Salam Ma'al Hijra to all dedicated followers, all members of the 16th batch of Ma'had Attarbiyah Al-Islamiyah and to all fellow readers. May Allah forgive the wrongs in the pass and open doors of good deeds in the future. May Allah guide our path towards His Jannah.

I apologized for the long unbearable silence. InshaAllah I am now back on track. Alhamdulillah, we have arrive at the 1433 hijrah year.

Hijra is a great part of the seerah where the prophet Muhammas PBUH and his followers migrated to Madina. This event was the start of an Islamic Nation where Madina became its' first. At this time, muslims form Mecca have to leave their house, wealth and some leave their relatives to answer Allah's order to move to Madina.

There were two groups whom was established during hijra; the muhajireen and ansor. Muhajireen is the name for the Mecca muslims who migrated. Ansor is the name for Madina muslims who help the immigrants of Mecca; ansor meaning helpers. Both groups have significant sacrifices to spread Islam all across the Arab nation. Both Muhajireen and Ansor undergo changes and became great people.

Hijra by its meaning is also to change. To change from bad to good. From good to better. From better to best. All in all to come to a point that Allah approves. All in all to get his 'redho'. Though it may be impossible to be perfect.

"You never reach perfection because there's always room for improvement.
Yet, along the way to perfection you'll learn to get better."
[Hlovate : Versus]

Changing is life as life is changing. Don't expect to change in a day, in a week, in a fortnight or in a month because changing needs time. It requires patient and determination. Start with small thing and keep on doing it.

Narrated by A'isha RA, Rasulullah saw said: "The deeds most loved by Allah swt (are those) done regularly, even if they are small.
[Riwayat Bukhari & Muslim]

Allah recites in the Quran 3 verses where proved we were given two choices between right and wrong. What we'll choose will give back what we deserve.

" Then He inspired it to understand what is right and wrong for it;
He will indeed be successful who purifies it,
And he will indeed fail who corrupts it."
[AsSyams 91 : 8-10]

Allah gives the best

Alhamdulillah. Over the past month, I have gone through many ups and downs but right now, inshaAllah, I'm trying hard to walk.

When we didn't get what we want and dream, we usually wonders why. Why Allah didn't give it to me? Why He doesn't want to help me? Why is He doing this to me?

But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah Knows, while you know not.
Al Baqarah-2:216

Alhamdulillah. After months of waiting, I have enrolled into a University. Now I am a university student.

A simple sharing. When we wished for something and prayed hard that Allah will grant it, just know that there are 3 possibilities if our wish is not granted.
1. Allah is waiting for the best time to grant your wish.
2. Allah is holding on to another thing to give which is better than what you wished.
3. Allah knows the best. What you've wished may not be the best for you. If Allah didn't give it now, maybe it is in the hereafter. InshaAllah.

Wallahu'alam.

Characteristic of a failure

Asm. Bismillah.

Yesterday there was a slot, like every wednesday at IKIM.FM an islamic radio station in Malaysia. The slot was with a well-knowned Eye Specialist Prof Muhaya. She's on air every wednesday from 10 till 11. Lembah Klang 91.5

Amongst the content of the slot yesterday was 3 characteristic of a failure.
  1. Those who grumble.
  2. Those who blame others.
  3. Those who blame themselves.
Saying things like-
  • 'this again...'
  • 'not that...'
  • 'now what???'
Saying things like-
  • 'he started it...'
  • 'she told me to...'
  • 'it was his fault I...'
Saying things like-
  • 'I can't...'
  • 'If only I...'
  • 'Im just a...'
You are what you believe. Have you heard of it? I've heard it. What we think, what we say is what make us who we are. So why not change or paradigm..
  1. Think of what you have, not what you dont. Your eyes, nose, ears, hands, feet.
  2. Appreciate others before they are gone. Your parents, teachers, friends, colleagues.
  3. Appreciate yourself they way you wish people to appreciate you. - Your uniqueness, your speciality. Your DUTY.
'...So hold that which I have given you and be of greatful.'
Al A'raf 7:144

Sami Yusuf - Make Me Strong

I know I’m waiting
Waiting for something
Something to happen to me
But this waiting comes with
Trials and challenges
Nothing in life is free
I wish that somehow
You’d tell me out aloud
That on that day I’ll be ok
But we’ll never know cause
That’s not the way it works
Help me find my way

My Lord show me right from wrong
Give me light make me strong
I know the road is long
Make me strong
Sometimes it just gets too much
I feel that I’ve lost touch
I know the road is long
Make me strong

I know I’m waiting
Yearning for something
Something known only to me
This waiting comes with
Trials and challenges
Life is one mystery
I wish that somehow

You’d tell me out aloud
That on that day you’ll forgive me
But we’ll never know cause
That’s not the way it works
I beg for your mercy

My Lord show me right from wrong
Give me light make me strong
I know the road is long
Make me strong
Sometimes it just gets too much
I feel that I’ve lost touch
I know the road is long
Make me strong

Bismillah.

This song was dedicated to me a few days a go by a sister in islam. Somehow, I just like to share it with all of you.

Those who are in a mess, in trouble, in difficulties, in hardships.. May Allah make you all strong.

The road we are walking is long, but with Allah by our side, inshaAllah we can go through everything.

We have to deal with the past, living the present and fight for the future.

Keep Moving Forward!

Remember YOU can make a difference!

Falling Away

Everytime I feel You close to me
I don't know
Who I'm supposed to be
Give me a chance
Cause I don't wanna slip away
Gotta keep You in my heart
Leaving all my ways

So many times I feel you in my heart
and I just wanna take it from the start
So please hold my hand today
Cause I can feel it fallin' away
Fallin' away
Allah will show me the way
Fallin' away

Every soul is walking back to You
I wanna run
What am I supposed to do?

Your helping hand
I need everyday
There's something I can do
So in heaven I can stay

I walk around the city
In the middle of the night
But nothing impresses me
Till I open up my eyes
A dome in its majesty
A minaret rising high
It's a place for me that everyday
I'll go to keep from falling away

786 Boyz- Falling Away

That place where I go to, to keep me from falling away is to You Allah. I beg of you to give us all strentgh. That little bit of strength. So we can all stand up from our fall.

Seek peace of mind and peace of soul at His homes- the mosque, musolla and prayer room. Hold your hand in prayer, pray for yourself, your parents, your families, your friends, your life. Pray for all the mu'mins. Pray that Allah will make life, that little bit easier for all of us.

'Ud'uni, astajiblakum'
'Pray to me, and I will answer.'
Al Baqarah 2:186

Please... I seek your prayers for me.

Mistakes

Assalamualaikum. A new day, but again mistakes were made like they were really running in the blood veins. But then again, we are the sons and daughters of Adam. Not an angel, not a prophet. We are mere human beings, living live to seek Allah's pleasure.

Prophet Muhammad PBUH once said, 'Every son of Adam had done wrong/sins and the best of those who sin are those who repent (from mistakes).' HR Imam Tirmidzi No. 2423

So, when we make mistakes, repent [meaning to reproach oneself, look back at the actions and think the consequences behing it all]. Try to set it in the mind, not to do the bad things and reflect it upon actions.

People who walk slowly learns more. We live the day to our fullest. Then at night, take a moment to reflect upon what we did. Walking slowly, you realise what your problems are, reflect on them and then mature. Not rushing through the day and night without stopping and reflecting.

Making mistakes are a part of living. By making mistakes, we learn and experience. By making mistakes, we grow up and mature. So, being the people who is making the mistake, keep moving forward and change! And being the people who are next to those mistake-makers, chill!! Don't give discouraging comments, these people are the ones that should help others to improve. Support them. Though cruel remarks can actually wake up someone, don't use it all the time. Live a green and possitive life.

One day, we all look back and appreciate these moments and these people and think 'thank God, I did that! And thank God, I met them!'

So, the summary is:-
  • reflect upon the mistakes you did
  • don't be afraid to make mistakes
  • cherish the moments and people around
Keep Moving Forward!
Remember, YOU can make a difference!

Turn over a new leaf

Assalamualaikum. Today is the 1st of May and its a start of a new month, a new chapter, a new beginning. In Malaysia, the 1st of May is a public holiday because its 'Hari Pekerja' or you could put it like 'Employees Day'.

Today, one of my closest friend, a gem, turned 18. She was startled, surprised, flabbergasted and dumbfounded by my present. hahaha

I gave her this book written by Hlovate called VERSUS. There's one word I to describe the book after I've read it and that is- WOW. Hehehe. That might be a bit over too exagerated. =D

InshaAllah by Allah's grace, I'm gonna revive and begin anew. My post will be labelled by 3 labels-
  1. My Story [mostly about what i feel, my experiences and such...]
  2. Seerah Tales [compilation of seerah from the time of the prophet and his companions or old stories of the old folks in the Quran or Hadith]
  3. One Love [motivation/inspiration/random things]
This will be my 1st post for My Story.

Turn over a new leaf.

Turn over a new leaf is an idiom that means starting new. It is not a 360 degree turn coz if you do that, you start back from where you left, Its more of a 180 degree turn because you are at the position opposits of where you start.

As today is the beginning of a new month so I thought, why not make a different ey? You see, people look back at the past and see it as something that will never be replayed or changed. The past was where we were and what build us to become who we are now and we like being in the past. Right??

Some people feels changing is wrong because you suddenly have to do things you never or hardly ever done, eat differently, talk different, live differently. Some people feels changing will change the whole you from the tip of the forehead to the toe nails. Some people feels changing will change everything.

Well actually, changing is not a crime. It is not a crime when you change for the better. It is a crime though when you change for the worst. So why turn over a new leaf? Because by turning it over, you will realise that life can be a lot more easier, happier place to be in. When you change for the better, live is actually changing for you.

Maybe last month I woke up at 7 and prayed at 7.05 then sleep back and woke up at 8.00.
Or maybe, I prayed half an hour before the next azan, I read a page of the Quran or I spent 3 hours 'fb'ing. Try this month to woke up at 6.30 and prayed at 6.35, or I pray half an hour after azan, I read 2 pages of the quran and spent 2 hours 'fb'ing.

Setting small goals for the future to improve oneself is better than actually setting BIG goals and only last for a week. The big mountain start with a small step! Walk slowly, turn slowly. Soon, when you didnt even realise it, the leaf will be half turned.

HOWEVER, nobody said Turning Over A New Leaf is an easy work like typing this post. It needs DETERMINATION.. and a really big one, PATIENCE... and a really deep one and ofcourse PERSEVERANCE.. coz it ain't gonna be easy.

When there's a will, there is a way!

So to summarize my 1st MY STORY, I'll just point out the points.. hahaha the words are sooo funny.

  • Changing is not a crime, but changing for the worst is.
  • Set a goal, a small one and then build it up, higher and higher
  • Have determination in what you are changing for.. for the BETTER
  • Have patience in swimming through the ocean... coz life is full of waves
  • Have perseverance in staying alive.. so you can feel the sweetness of the sun, when the leaf is turned over.
Keep Moving Forward!
Remember You can Make A Difference!!!
